My son received this when he was born. Once he was about 6 months old, this became his favorite toy. I like that he has to do certain things to get each specific sound, it really does help him understand cause and effect. For instance, when he finally found the "song" "button," he was ecstatic. I bought this toy because my daughter really likes banging on things open-handed (slap style) and I figured a baby drum would be perfect. But when I got it I realized she couldn't make it work. Why - the 'drumhead' is actually a button and needs to be pressed, not hit. Sometimes she does turn it on, but it's mostly an accident. Maybe an older baby would get it better but it says 6 months+ and my daughter is 8 months. Besides, once she is able to press buttons there are many other toys for that. Once pressed the drum plays a melody - notice I said *A* melody cause there is only one - and the tops of the drums flash. This may draw her attention but does not excite or amuse her. The one thing she does like is rolling it. it's a cute enough mirror but I noticed with the foot with the squeaker you have to push kinda hard and in just the right way to make it squeak. easy for an adult to do but probably not for a little baby. There are mirrors out there with better activities attached for around the same price. I would recommend looking at other fisher price mirrors as this is not their best one. i also recommend looking into sassy and lamaze mirrors.

My daughter has the Loving Family Grand Dollhouse (not the Twin one) and LOVES it. We have a garden at home and I like the idea of her playing "garden", however this set is really lacking and could be so much better. The shelf baskets don't fit anywhere on the Grand Dollhouse. A previous reviewer stated that they fit on the Twin house - why don't they fit on the Grand??? The only place you can hang them is on the actual garden structure, which can only hold one shelf basket at a time. The set includes two shelf baskets (and one hanging basket) so the 2nd shelf basket is always just laying around - completely useless. The garden only "grows" flowers - from an educational standpoint, it would be nice if it offered something like a bunch of carrots, lettuce or something food related. The hose drives me crazy b/c it never stays rolled up. Of all the pieces in this set, my daughter uses the watering can the most.
