I also had problems with it - maybe because it was a new set, but every time I put in one part another one fell out. The box said for 3-5 year olds, but his mom and I felt like it was for 5+. We have so many kinds of building toys. My children are ages 5, 7 and 9. All of them tend to be frustrated with sets that you can only look at after building. These stay together well! This toy is a HOOT! I was shopping for my 3yr old son and noticed him on the shelf. I thought at first that he was just a glorified version of the old dinosaur heads on a stick but he is so much more! You stick your arm in the neck area and use the handle located in the base of the head. When you squeeze it, he does "chomp" but he also lights up and moves his eyes and makes HYSTERICAL sound effects! Yes, they get old after awhile but kids are easily amused! Every time he burps or says PATOOEY my kids crack up!

Caution should be used because this thing does close it mouth and misplaced fingers could get pinched. This thing is really designed for young kids tho because it doesn't allow the jaws to snap shut all the way.

Best Little People value. Bought this at Toys R Us when my daughter was 14 months old, she's 20 months and still plays with it. She had been having trouble stacking wooden blocks and making them stay so I got legos, but those have to be turned to a specific orientation to make them stick. These blocks all stack easily whatever the orientation or shape of the piece (the connectors are all circular) and they don't snap together, so they're easy to take apart. She can do Legos now, but she still likes this thing just as well or better because of the rolling train. We already had the barn so the engineer that comes with it plays with the farmer. The human Little People figurines fit on top of the blocks, the top of the train, and the smoke stack, or you can set them on a flat surface. My daughter now pushes it around and says "toot toot" giving all her barn animals a ride inside this thing, or taking the blocks to different rooms to make stacks there. Store everything it comes with inside the train and close the top! I expect the other Little People toys that come with these same kind of blocks would be great too. I was so excited to get my one year old a swing, and this was just such a disappointment. It's meant to hang from a tree branch or pre-existing swing set, which isn't mentioned anywhere in the description. We were going to put eye-hooks in our porch roof, but it actually recommends against using the hooks (or even really the swing set for that matter), due to the potential for creating metal shavings. Considering how many swing sets are metal on metal, it makes me think it must be some awfully cheap not very sturdy metal that they use. Second, we tried roping it around a sturdy part of the trellis since we don't have any trees in the desert, and it hung about 5 feet off the ground. Much too high for comfort. Then, to make matters MORE annoying, it didn't matter what we did, it would not level out. We tried adjusting the ropes behind the seat like the directions said, and they never budged. Great I supposed for peace of mind once it's installed properly, but no amount of pushing, pulling, or maneuvering was going to get those things to move. So, it's since been pulled back down, and will be returned as soon as the holidays are done. What a horrible disappointment.

I bought the rescue pack for my son for Christmas. He absolutely loves it. The pros are that it has straps so they can wear it on their back, its heavy duty and can probably stand a lot of abuse. The cons are that the rhino it comes with it as hard as a rock so that went in the trash and that the string you pull to release the "flare" is very difficult to pull. I did a lot of research on toy laptops for my 3 year old. This one had no reviews anywhere that I looked, but the descriptions say that it teaches skills like geography, science, etc. I was looking for something that taught more that the ABCs and 123s because my daughter already knows those. *Poor Design-Zoey is tall enough for her feet to touch the floor but if she goes back this will roll over her toes, she can't get it to go forward unless she stands up and then this is more like a 'broom-stick pony' rather than a riding/rolling pony. Madison can barely touch the floor-it is too tall for her.
*Crappy Wheels-the wheels are a cheap plastic and hard to roll. Even if my husband and I are pushing my girls it just doesn't roll easily at all. It is cheap plastic on cheap plastic and makes that cheap plastic scraping noise when it rolls


If either of my girls were able to sit on this and make it go forward I would give it a good review but as it is, it just gets an OK. I don't hate it but I wouldn't recommend it either, it needs to be re-designed.

I think this might work for a baby who is either taller & can get their feet outside the wheels to push themselves or maybe for an older baby, like 2 or older.

My 15-month-old received this as a Christmas gift from his wish list, and while it's cute, it does not work as described in the description. The head does not move back and forth and is completely stationary. Also, the blocks do not move up and down on the caterpillar's back as described. We have the big Silly Town set, so the additional blocks are nice as we can use them with both this toy and Silly Town, and it does roll, stiffly. The "Boing" noise is not so much a boing as it is a quiet, springy sound.

It's an OK toy, if a little boring (he much prefers the little car that came with Silly Town for a rolling toy with these blocks). For the money, though, it's pretty basic.
