Our child loves this toy, especially so the "bonus" farmer doll "Buddy" that comes with it. The actual toy is ok but our child doesn't nearly love it as much as the little farmer doll. As parents, we find the doll more annoying than the see and say toy because the doll is a lot more monotonous than the see and say. The doll can not be washed, so for cleaning purposes keep that in mind. Once it gets really dirty by, say, falling in dirty slush or snow, it pretty much stays dirty. Don't take the doll outside! Gift for 6 year old son. He also has Imaginex castle which closes and has handles. I buy these items from Fisher Price because they are sturdy and well made. Cost more than some toys but worth the extra dollars because they hold up so well and my son really likes playing with both castles, the knights, the dragons, etc. and he takes them when he "travels" to grandmas. This castle has cool sounds, hidden staircase, etc. but it doesn't fold up like the other castle. Otherwise, I definitely recommend it but would also buy the extra knight which was really cheap at Target!

Well, I researched and researched, and looked forward to this toy. We had to replace our son's crib toy as the machinery became noisy, and settled with this one for our second child. I love the sounds and the bubbles and fish are captivating. One problem - this thing is too darn BRIGHT! I wish the light could be turned down to a softer glow. My daughter is 17 months old and Santa brought her this, along with the Mom and Dad and Baby Room accessories for Christmas 2009. It is absolutely adorable and so precise in workmanship. My son has had this train for a few months now. he loves and still goes back to it.. when he first got it, he was a little tired and couldn't keep it up right while pushing it around with the big handle. every time it fell over, he cried.. but he did not want to be helped. he would just stand it up and try again. he doesn't like the 2nd car to be attached to it and just plays with that separately. Over all, its a good toy and he likes pushing it around and the peek a boo blocks are fun and he likes to shake them and make noise. My husband and I were thoroughly disappointed with this one. We were assuming it was similar to the earlier models- however it lacks in comparison. The "ding" on the elevator is poorly made and makes a lack luster sound. The hose for the gas it way too short and almost non-functional. The second story has no access to the downward spiral ramp. The guys fall out of their vehicles as they roll down the spiral ramp. There's no gate to stop cars leaving the garage, like the old one had. Finally, there really is no lower level to park the cars. I got this for my twin 10 month olds. When they touch/grab this toy, it makes a certain "magic charms" noise with flashing white lights inside that really gets their attention. At first they let go, look at it, and then touch again. Then they're likely to set off the actual music, and they appreciate that.

The lights, combined with the magic noise, gives this stacker an extra dimension. It's another great toy at a very reasonable price, and if you buy several toys, I'd go ahead and get it. Stackers are basic and this one is unique.

The only thing to watch out for is if the baby falls on the very top yellow piece, as that one looks to me as if it has some hard edges and could hurt. Not so the other pieces, which the babies love to play with. However, perhaps because I'm so vigilent, neither of my babies has fallen on the top hard plastic piece.

The bottom rocks, so it's deliberately not quite steady, and that makes a baby want to do something to it. We received this for my daughter for Christmas (almost 2 yrs old) and she has plenty of fun stuffing the animals down the silo and pulling them out the bottom. She also loves to pull open the doors that make the animal sounds and moves the chicken back and forth. As far as educational value, it's minimal. Maybe when she gets older she will put the horse behind the door that makes the horse sounds, but not just yet.

I do have one big gripe with this toy. My niece also received this toy for her first birthday and we both have the same issue. The cow's door does not work very well or at all. My niece's cow door is stuck and only a 3+ yr old could figure out to pull much harder to unstick it to make a sound. My daughter's cow door worked for all of 3 minutes and now makes no sound at all.

The handle keeps it from being as roomy as I'd like to see for those little hands but she loves to stuff things in there and just push it around or carry objects in it like its a purse because it has that nifty handle.
