This item is very very cute as you have come to expect from Fisher-Price. The plastic globe surrounding the animals inside is shiny, smooth, and sturdy. The critters inside have appealing expressions as does the little turtle who forms the knob on top.
My 8-month old has had this toy since he was about 3 months, and while it always catches his eye and attracts him, he does wind up losing interest rather quickly. He seems to understand that he is supposed to push down on the turtle/plunger mechanism, but it is SO hard to do! It's hard even for me. The resistance is much too much. And even with help to activate the spinning carousel inside, the bayb doesn't get to see it spin very freely or very long. It's like the whole mechanism is gummed up with something.
