My 2 year old got this as a present to go with one of the bigger GeoTrax train sets. The tracks works perfectly with the bigger set and the ranch house is very cute. The train is a push train but it only took him a few minutes to figure out that he can put it in front of the battery operated GeoTrax engine to push it around the track. I don't know how long this set would hold a child's attention on it's own - the train would just go around in a small circle. But as part of a bigger GeoTrax set it is wonderful!
