My wife and I totally forgot about these things until a recent trip to `Babies R Us' reminded us of how much fun and really how educational these things are. So, with a few expertly dropped hints, our daughter wound up with one (thank you Granny) and she absolutely LOVES it. We can't tear her away from it. She draws on this thing all day long, and while her art work is subjective it is wonderful to see her so excited about the images she's created.
She easily uses the board and the shapes and the pen and she can even erase it herself. I will agree with the other poster who said that at times you have to erase it two or three times for the image to completely go away, but it is a small complaint.
What I find so wonderful about this `toy' is that it does help in the learning process. My daughter even calls this `school work' and we have used it to teach her some basic reading.
The shapes are small enough to get stuck in a little one's throat, so please watch your kids. So far my little one hasn't attempted to swallow anything, but the danger is there so we watch her closely. I feel as though I'm repeating the review above me (very nicely written Mercedes) but she's right; that pen chord is really durable (my little girl drags this thing everywhere by that pen) and the handles are easy to use, although it is a bit wide for my daughter (she's dainty).
So yes, I totally recommend this one. I have seen a few complaints about price here. I didn't personally buy this, so I'm not sure how much it costs in the store, but do some shopping and get yourself a deal.
