My now 13 month old son was always trying to take mine and my husband's cell phones so we figured we'd get him one of his own. He likes this toy but doesn't play with it ALL the time. If he sees it he'll pick it up and we've taught him to hold it to his ear like he's talking, so he does that and smiles and laughs.
