I reviewed all the register's on Amazon, and chose this one. My son was disappointed because there is not a red light to scan things, like his friend's. Also, the microphone is there for looks. It does not magnify the voice. I appreciate it for educational reasons, but I wish it was more like the real thing......so it could serve both purposes. I believe that there are too many things going on with this register for a child to really enjoy it.
