Keeping little baby hands off my remotes has been and still is a nightly challenge, but with this baby remote, it's gotten a lot better.

This Baby remote really has worked well in distracting and/or "fooling" my son into thinking it's something he needs to be handling and dropping. Just keep it handy near your other remotes and it can save you from your child switching sources & channels, dropping, drooling and sucking your real remotes.

As far as educational value (learning numbers), when we first got it he wasn't old enough to understand numbers, he liked pushing buttons. Now that he is 17months old he is still finding value out of noises he has learned to associate with the pictures on the buttons. Next step will be understanding the numbers and elmo speaking the numbers.

But learning numbers from this toy isn't that important as your child will learn numbers in other ways.

Obviously, do not pay $200 for this table, but if you can find it for the $20-30 mark, it is a terrific toy. We bought it for my first child when she was about 10 months old, and she is still interested in it as a 3 year old. Her younger brother loves it also. Before he started pulling up, I took the legs off and it was a great floor toy. Now that he can pull to stand, he is mesmerized, and is spending a lot of time exploring the features. It does sing and make a lot of noise (I have it on the lower volume setting, found on the underside of the table top), but I don't find it as annoying as many other battery powered toys. I like the dual content feature - one option for singing and music, and another option for "learning" that goes through the alphabet, colors, shapes, and so on. My daughter is 4 and we bought this for her for christmas. Our old computer wasn't updated enough to accept the software so it sat for 3 months untill we recently purchased a new HP computer. The software installed fine and not to long. She has been playing it non stop for the last week and i have had to stock up on paper and ink for the printer, but she LOVES IT.. I have, however, had to restart the program mulitple times. usually at least once every time she plays it. It hasn't caused any major problems with my internet connection as others are stating but it is a bit of a hassle to turn it off and turn it back on. [...]. All in all if you like making your kids happy and aren't the type of person to get frustrated over a little hassle then its not bad. Anything for my kids ya know.
